Inaya Putri Hotel, Nusa Dua
As we drove leisurely into the Nusa Dua ITDC area, we marveled at the beautiful landscaped streets and walkways. They overflowed with lush greenery and flowers of every color. It really built up our expectations of the hotel. And Inaya Putri did not disappoint. The majestic lobby reception area is tastefully designed in the traditional Indonesian arched dome style with the soft notes of a bamboo and water pan-flute echoing throughout. The only gripe we had was the slow and tedious check in process. Their check in time is 3 pm so if you reach earlier, be prepared to wait.
So should you stay here when you’re in Bali? Lets find out.
The hotel’s location is absolutely perfect. Sitting along one of the most picturesque beaches of Nusa Dua, this hotel’s expansive property boasted of not one but 3 cascading infinity pools, a beach cafe, fabulous spa and world class restaurants too. There are plenty of things to see and do within walking distance, all inside the ITDC complex. We went to Bali Collection to shop, and try out all the restaurants, walked down to some interesting cafe’s along the beach stretch and finally, experienced the incredible Waterblow at the peninsula. If you’re an avid golfer, there is a golf course 3 km away.
As soon as we dropped our bags we charged into the clear cobalt sea and swam to our heart’s content. After our impromptu swim in the sea we were ravenous, and there on the lawn by the sand were the helpful staff at the beach club. Armed with sorbet’s, snacks and some potent and delicious cocktails that we enjoyed whilst taking in the beautiful view of their private beach.
A canopy shades the largest of the three infinity pools that cascade out towards the lawns. The two baby pools are perfect for toddlers and the lower infinity pools were a favorite among the older kids.
If you fancy a swim in one of the pools, you can enjoy the poolside cafe offering snacks and drinks. Try the ‘Red Dragonfruit Sorbet’.
Their spa is also worth mentioning for the relaxing facial and body treatments. The Balinese massage and body scrub was excellent. You can opt to have a relaxing massage by the beach as well.
There is a free shuttle buggy every hour, to and from Bali Collection which is a 5 minute walk away. There are paid shuttles you can book from the concierge to go to nearby attractions.
They organize some kids art & crafts and outdoor activities as well. The official kids club is still not operational.
There are a variety of rooms, suites, and villas too. Each one larger and more luxurious than the next. We chose the Deluxe room. It was spacious with a sitting area, balcony, a cozy king sized bed and plenty of free goodies in the mini bar. The bathroom however is the star of the show. With a huge deep tub perfect for bubble baths. I loved their selection of toiletries and the separate sower area as well. If you would love a midnight swim, they have pool access rooms which are more expensive but have the luxury of a little lagoon pool right at your doorstep. Personally, I was more excited about the infinity pools facing the beach so we didn’t go in for the pool access room.
Smokey Sangria – without the smoke!
The check-in process was taking time so we settled into this cafe overlooking the lawns and sampled their signature cocktails. You must have the ‘Smokey Sangria’. Its a fruity concoction that’s quite theatrical in its presentation. A thick white smoke swirls out of your glass inviting you into the deep red wine bursting with kiwis, strawberries and passion fruit. We ordered this one all the time! The kids menu here had a lot of options and you can order from this menu anywhere in the hotel. The Nasi Goreng was excellent.
An award winning restaurant serving authentic Indonesian fare, we made sure to try all their specials. The Beef Rendang was by far the best dish we had tasted in Bali altogether. The Opur Ayyam and their chef’s special dessert are also good.
A terrace bar serving delicious cocktails and beverages, we loved the view from the bar at night.
This is the breakfast buffet restaurant. Its worth taking a breakfast inclusive package when you book this hotel as the spread is fit for a king. There are so many delicious options that you wont be able to taste them all in just one day. A good mix of Western and Asian dishes, we loved their patisserie and waffle station. The variety is excellent and perfect if you’re travelling with kids (especially if they’re like our 3 year old whose food preference changed every day). They will cook something fresh for your infant or toddler as per their needs as well. Accompanying your breakfast, there is an extensive list of beverages you can choose from. Specialty coffees, teas, mocktails and fresh juices. The Tangerine juice was exceptional.
So should you stay here?
If you are on honeymoon, or on a fun family vacation, baby-moon, or even on a trip with friends, this is definitely the luxury you need on holiday! It is priced a little higher than the hotels away from the beach, but it is worth every penny. If you stay for just 3 or 4 nights it wont burn a hole in your pocket and that’s more than enough time to enjoy this part of Bali. Yes, their check in and check-out is slow as they are a huge hotel and I hope that improves. For all the facilities, location and opulence, this is a value for money choice and we certainly made the most of it!
